Tbilisi

Georgia’s ancient and vibrant capital city spreads out on both banks of the Mtkvari River, and is surrounded on three sides by mountains. Tbilisi is the beating heart of South Caucasus with its modern and ancient centres, welcoming lifestyle and diverse architecture encompassing Eastern Orthodox churches, ornate art nouveau buildings and Soviet Modernist structures. The sulphur bathhouses fed by natural hot springs at The Old Town make this destination unique.

Tbilisi is also a good shopping destination. There is a flea market organized every Saturday along the banks of the river and is a great place to buy antiques and jewellery. The Tbilisi Mall is also a good place for shopping. The area of Old Tbilisi also is lined with numerous shops.

• Lake Lisi: A popular recreational area in Tbilisi for a lazy walk around lake complemented with stunned views.
• National Botanical Garden: Located at the foothills of the Narikala fortress in the city center including over 4,500 species and intraspecific taxa of the flora of the Caucasus and other regions of the world.
• Narikala Fortress: Once a Persian citadel, the fortress dominates the Old Town skyline.
• Funicular: Several degrees cooler than the city below, The Funicular Complex offers couple of great places to eat and drink coupled with magnificent views.
